PERSPECTIVE DIRECTIONS OF THE STATE POLICY IN THE SPHERE OF SUPPORT OF HEAVY INDUSTRY OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION

Abstract

The purpose of the article is to identify promising areas of development of public policy in the sphere of support for domestic heavy industry. The research methodology is based on the works of domestic scientists, as well as on official statistical data reflecting the trends in the development of heavy industry in Russia. The relevance of the topic is conditioned by the fact that the heavy industry is an important element of the country’s economic development and its strategic task, given the withdrawal of many foreign manufacturers from the Russian market and the ban on imports of a wide range of high-tech products. The results of the study prove that in the present conditions it is necessary to provide state support to the heavy industry in order to meet the needs of the domestic economy in its products. The analysis of the performance indicators of the heavy industry sector of the Russian Federation allowed to identify the problems arising in this industry, as well as to propose ways to assess the provided measures of state support. The conclusion notes the need to implement a comprehensive approach to the issues of heavy industry development involving all market participants, not relying on exclusive government support.
