Abstract
The purpose of the article is to analyze regional demographic policy for supporting families with children and to find opportunities for its improvement. The research methodology is based on the approach of unity and differentiation of legal regulation in the area under consideration. The research uses a comprehensive approach to studying regional experience in interpreting support measures for citizens with children, including an analysis of legislation and by-laws, statistical data, and scientific research. The results of the research include formulating the authorial position regarding the rationalization of regional legislation, offering a set of measures to support families with children. The discussion of the problem allows to reveal the possibility of identifying “best practices” that can serve as a benchmark for other regions with similar demographic needs and that represent the potential for scaling up to the national level. In conclusion, the need to expand the areas of implementation of maternal (family) capital (MSC), to popularize the experience of the Republic of Tatarstan in establishing a lump sum payment to women living in rural areas, at the national level, and to develop a set of special support measures for single mothers and fathers is substantiated.
