IDEOLOGICAL DIMENSION OF PARLIAMENTARY PARTIES’ ACTIVITIES IN THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION

Abstract

The purpose of the study is to examine the ideological guidelines in the activities of modern parliamentary parties in Russia. The research was based on the principles of comparative-historical, systemic and structural-functional analysis. A set of historical, sociological and descriptive methods was used in the work. The combination of these methods made it possible to analyze the degree of ideology influence on the activities of parliamentary parties. Special attention is paid to the study of conservative ideas in party building. Modern parliamentary parties, unlike the parliamentary parties of the period of the beginning of party building, today act as “factories” for the development of ideas capable of consolidating Russian society. It is noted that in the modern Russian political discourse there is a demand for ideas aimed at reconciling the opposing right and left doctrines. Slogans in favor of patriotism, sovereignty and independence are increasingly heard in political life as national ideas are quite in demand and meet the objective reality, especially against the background of external and internal threats associated with geopolitical tensions. The conclusion is made about the need to improve the political system in order to strengthen the interaction between public authorities and the population and form a national ideology.
