Abstract
The aim of the study is to systematize existing interpretations of sport politicization, as well as ideas of Russian scholars about its causes, models and consequences. The authorial definitions of sport politicization and its technologies are formulated. Two levels of politicization subjectivity are identified. A complex of internal and external causes, as well as effects of politicization is formed and the relationship between the scale of politicization, on the one hand, and significance of the political tasks solved in this case and the level of technological / organic nature of politicization itself, on the other, is revealed. The conclusion is made that according to the degree of their influence, subjects of sport politicization can be divided into two levels. Subjects of the first level, as a rule, initiate beginning or termination of the politicization process, while subjects of the second level make specific related managerial decisions. Despite the significant role that mass media play in this process, they are not subjects, but agents of sport politicization.
