Abstract
The results and prospects for systematization of forms of scientific research into the theoretical foundations of state law in Russia in the 19th – early 20th centuries are analyzed. Using general scientific methods of cognition and an information approach as a special tool, the author substantiates the choice of a monograph, dissertation, and scientific article as the most adequate forms of expression of state-legal thought in pre-revolutionary legal science. Quantitative data obtained as a result of systematization of external forms of expression of the theoretical foundations of domestic pre-revolutionary state law are provided.
