The purpose of the study is to identify the features of the historical education process as a state-regulated activity for the dissemination of reliable and scientifically based historical knowledge in society. The research methodology is based on the principle of the integrity and consistency of public policy in this area. The use of an integrated approach to the study of state influence on the process of formation and change of the “historical memory” of youth allows us to form an effective state policy in this area of knowledge, which contributes to the sustainable development of society, as well as ensuring the rights and freedoms of all social subjects. In conclusion, it is emphasized that the collective historical memory of various generations as a condition for the stability of modern Russian society cannot be preserved in the minds of young people without special efforts by society and the state focused on forming a historical consciousness based on the inseparable history of Russia and on bringing this historical event as close as possible to the personality of a young person.
