Constitutionalization of Traditional Russian Spiritual and Moral Values

Abstract

The publication considers the problems of constitutionalization of traditional Russian values in the context of sustainable development and preservation of national identity. The research methodology consists in the analysis of current legislative and regulatory acts as the most representative and modern sources based on the corpus of all previous ones. The method of retrospective analysis is used, which allows to assert that in the process of globalization some traditions disappear, others are modified, but traditional values remain as immutable. Issues of legal regulation of traditional spiritual and moral values are discussed. The main legal sources that are related to the constitutionalization of traditional spiritual and moral values are characterized. The content of the state policy of the Russian Federation on the preservation and strengthening of traditional Russian spiritual and moral values is defined. As a result of the study, the fundamental role of spiritual and moral values in the Russian legislation was determined. The state policy of the Russian Federation on the preservation and strengthening of traditional Russian spiritual and moral values is a set of coordinated measures implemented by the President of the Russian Federation and other public authorities with the participation of civil society institutions to counteract socio-cultural threats to the national security of the Russian Federation in terms of the protection of traditional values. The enshrinement of basic spiritual and moral values in Russian legislation strengthens their role in society and guarantees their special support and protection by the state.
