Abstract
The article examines the problems of protecting the state and national interests of the Russian Federation in the religious sphere. Based on the scientific concepts of post-secularity and protection of state sovereignty, the author explores the tendency to highlight “sectoral” sovereignty in the religious sphere. Such definitions as “spiritual sovereignty”, “religious sovereignty”, and the religious aspect of state sovereignty are analyzed. The latter stands out as the most correct theoretical interpretation of the state’s ability to protect its interests in the religious sphere. The religious aspect of Russia’s state sovereignty is one of the key factors in the modern political reality of the country, which is being politicized. The results of the study are a conceptual elaboration of the problem. The author elaborates recommendations in the field of improving state-confessional relations. It is proposed to activate the mechanism of social partnership in the development of international religious institutions for the formation of religious-legal guarantees of state sovereignty.
