Abstract
Functions and powers of the prosecutor’s office in the dynamics of development of this institution are examined. The basic stages of the activities of the prosecutor’s office are specified: imperial, monarchical, Soviet, and modern. An analysis of regulations that establish the status and functions of the prosecutor’s office is presented.
